Project-Based Waiting List Now Open 

We’re glad you’re here! The Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Project-Based Waiting List is open from 9:00 a.m. on January 14th, 2026 through 11:59 p.m. January 23rd, 2026, giving eligible households the opportunity to apply for rental assistance.

Applications will be available online only when the list opens. Please check back for details and be ready with your household information.

If you are a person with a disability and need assistance with preliminary application process, please contact the call center at 1 (844)-225-6726 starting January 14, 2026 through January 23, 2026.  The call center is available between 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday - Friday.

HABC uses the Maryland Relay System to communicate with deaf or hard of hearing individuals over the telephone. The phone number for Maryland Relay is 711, which can be dialed from anywhere in Maryland to connect to a relay operator. Other numbers for Maryland Relay include the toll-free customer service line 1-800-552-7724 for voice (V) and text telephone (TTY) and the video phone (VP) number 1-443-453-5970.

HCVP PBV Waiting List Public Notice

The project-based voucher program provides federally funded rental assistance for eligible very low-income families up to five (5) bedroom households, elderly households, and non-elderly single persons with disabilities to afford decent, safe and sanitary housing in the private market. The project-based voucher is attached to specific housing units.
