As celebrations begin, the Office of Resident Services kicks of the Holiday Season with gift certificates totaling $50,000 to HCVP and Public Housing Families in Baltimore City. This is the fourth year that ORS and The Housing Authority of Baltimore City have done their part to make the holiday season brighter for the children they serve. “It’s just the right thing to do as a Service Coordinators unit” chimed Harriet Johnson, the Support Services Unit Administrator for the Office of Resident Services at HABC.

Distribution of the certificates is sponsored by Baltimore’s own, Santa Clause Anonymous, a nonprofit that sends gift certificates to social service organizations that then provide the certificates to qualifying families in need. ORS identified and selected HCVP and Public Housing families who meet the criteria with children ages 12 and under to receive gift certificates valued at $20 per child. Heads of Households may pick up at Mondawmin Mall December 4th thru December 6th from 1pm-7pm . Families redeem the certificates for children’s gifts at partnering retail merchants in the Baltimore area who are then reimbursed by Santa Claus Anonymous.

Although Santa is not present at Mondawmin Mall, the spirit and good cheer of the holiday is!
