The Poe Homes Tenant Council, in partnership with HABC’s Resident Services and Planning and Development Departments, as well as the University of Maryland, Baltimore’s Community Engagement Center (CEC), organized a pizza party and survey drive at Poe’s Mutrie Auditorium on Thursday evening, March 14th. The Resident Services team administered surveys to more than 20 households at Poe Homes as part of the HUD Choice Neighborhoods planning grant process. Gift cards were distributed to all households that completed a survey, which was a recommendation offered by the Poe Homes tenant council to encourage resident participation in the needs assessment phase. The event attracted more than 75 residents from Poe Homes, the Townes at the Terraces and Terrace Gardens Senior Co-Op, many of which were engaged by HABC Resident Services for additional resources.

We are very thankful to the CEC for supporting local businesses by welcoming our guests with dinner from Zella’s, a gourmet pizzeria, bar and art gallery in the Choice Neighborhoods planning grant area - http://www.zellaspizzeria.com/

The next Task Force meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 17TH at 6:30 PM at the University of Maryland Biopark (801 W. Baltimore Street, 1st floor). All are welcome! Our tent is big and it is never too late to join us. A special thanks to Jane Shaab of the UM Biopark for providing meeting space.
